The cosmetics and personal care market is one of the fastest growing consumer markets in the United States, with the average U.S. consumer using upwards of a dozen beauty, health, and wellness products every day. Yet for many years, the barriers to entry in the cosmetics and personal care market have remained relatively low and beauty, health, and wellness products sold in the U.S. have been subject to comparatively little oversight.

A recent expansion of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)’s regulatory authority over cosmetics, increasing demands for cleaner beauty, and more transparency in the advertising and labeling of those products stand to change the landscape for the companies that manufacture, process, import, distribute, and sell these products.

This accredited course will provide a high-level overview of the regulations applicable to cosmetics and other personal care products sold in the U.S., and address some of the hottest issues facing companies in the cosmetics and personal care industry.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
• Identify key regulatory differences between Cosmetics and Drugs
• Outline Food, Drug, & Cosmetic Act Violations
• Examine Federal Trade Commission claims substantiation
• Explain regulatory enforcement
